Herve Collette
I am French living in South Africa and now 38 y/old.

I am a Rolls-Royce passionate and decided to build this website to share my passion with everyone.

I used to be a RREC member, as it seemed to be a good move to get tips, know great workshops, etc...

My car is a 1981 Silver Spirit that I bought in 1997. This car has been very reliable, and I plan to keep it for long years and upgrade it to the latest standard.

My everyday car is a Mercedes-Benz

I have upgraded the car in 2002 with a set of 16' alloy rims, she now looks much younger!
2008: I now run this car with regular tap water! yes, you read well... TAP WATER.
The only problem so far is to regulate the flow of hydrogen into the engine. The engine runs rather fast. I need to create a system to regulate the amount of hydrogen into the engine, can you help?

I am now contemplating upgrading the entire look of the car
by having the mirrors & bumpers changed to the look of the
Silver Spirit III or Silver Dawn (1996 upwards), cost?.... Well
here is a part email received from Introcar (RR specialist)

the change I want

With regard to your question about updating your car to the "wraparound" bumpers equipped on the Silver Spirit III - yes, this is perfectly possible. However, it is quite an expensive job, because of the following processes and parts required:

1) The grille on the Silver Spirit III is shorter, so yours must be replaced to accomodate the later bumpers. This will cost roughly GBP 3K in itself.

2) Front and rear wings need to be cut and therefore a considerable amount of bodywork and painting is required.

3) The bumpers themselves will cost (approximately) between GBP 1500.00 & GBP 2500.00 each, depending on how many of the components can be sourced good second hand, and how much work you are prepared to put in at your end using non-original fixings and brackets.

4) The Silver Spirit III was also equipped with quarterlight-mounted door mirrors, rather than those mounted on the body of the door. If you wanted to complete the upgrade you would need to replace door frames, door mirrors and door windows, as well as filling and painting the apertures for the current door mirrors. However, on those bumper upgrades I have overseen it is relatively common to omit these modifications.

I hope that this is of some assistance, but please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything further that i can do.
